Eligibility Requirements & Recommendations
This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the eligibility requirements and recommendations for all activities at Highline Adventures.
Zipline Tours
Includes the Classic Zipline Tour, Moonlight Zipline, and Hike & Fly.
Requirements
- Weight: Participants must weigh between 75 lbs and 275 lbs. Discreet weight verification is performed at check-in.
- Health & Mobility: * Must be in reasonably good health.
- Must have full use of both arms and legs.
- Must be able to climb/descend a 5-foot ladder for off-loading.
- Pregnancy: For safety reasons, pregnant women are not permitted to zip.
- Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are strictly required (e.g., hiking boots or sneakers). No sandals, Crocs, or Five-Finger shoes.
- Hair & Accessories: Long hair must be tied back. Dangly jewelry or loose accessories must be removed.
Recommendations
- Clothing: Dress as if you are going for a hike. Because you will be in a harness, longer shorts or pants are highly recommended for comfort.
- Weather: Tours operate rain or shine. Check the weather for Buellton (93427) and dress in layers if it is cool.
- Arrival: Arrive at least 15-20 minutes early to allow for parking, check-in, and gearing up. Late arrivals may forfeit their tour without a refund.
- Valuables: We recommend leaving phones and cameras in your car. Items dropped from the lines are often impossible to recover.
- Nutrition: Tours last 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Please eat a meal prior to arrival.
Adventure Park
A multi-level course with over 60 challenges.
Requirements
- Height: Minimum 48 inches (4 feet) tall.
- Weight: Maximum 275 lbs.
- Reach: To navigate the course independently, participants should have a vertical reach of at least 70 inches. Children that meet the height requirement, but not the reach requirement must be accompanied by a participating adult to assist with navigation.
- Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. (Crocs not permitted)
- Pregnancy: Not permitted on the course.
Recommendations
- Gloves: Highly recommended to protect your hands while handling cables and ropes. You can bring your own or purchase them at Basecamp.
- Clothing: Comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for a wide range of motion.
- Age: Recommended for ages 10 and up.
Skynet Playground
Netted aerial exploration for all ages
Requirements
- Weight: Must weigh less than 300 lbs.
- Age/Supervision: Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult on the course.
- Footwear: Closed-toe and flat-sole shoes are required.
- Health: Must have use of both arms and legs.
- Pregnancy: Not permitted.
Recommendations
- Sharp Objects: Ensure pockets are empty of keys, knives, or sharp objects that could damage the netting.
Duration: Plan for about 90 minutes of playtime.
Mountain Bike Nights
Weekly community rides on private trails.
Requirements
- Safety Gear: A helmet is mandatory at all times while on the property.
- Waiver: Every rider must have a signed waiver. Riders under 18 must have a parent/guardian signature.
- Age: Riders under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on the trails.
- Equipment: Ensure tires are properly inflated and brakes are in working order before arrival.
Recommendations
- Timing: Meet at Basecamp at 5:00 PM sharp on Thursdays. Trails typically close at 7:00 PM.
Etiquette: This is a community event; please follow trail etiquette and respect the natural environment.
Protea Flower Field Tours
Educational guided tours of the ranch's exotic flower fields.
Requirements
- Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are required as the terrain can be uneven.
- Mobility: Must be able to walk distances up to 1 mile (assistance is available if coordinated in advance).
Recommendations
- Photography: This is the most scenic part of the ranch—bring a camera!
Sun Protection: The fields are unsheltered; hats and sunscreen are highly recommended.
General Information for All Guests
- Digital Waivers: To save time, fill out your waiver online via the link in your confirmation email before you arrive.
- Medical Conditions: If you have a condition requiring fast-acting medication (like an EpiPen or inhaler), bring it with you and notify your guide.
- Alcohol/Drugs: Highline Adventures has a zero-tolerance policy for substances. You will not be allowed to participate if you are under the influence.
Cancellation: All sales are final and we do not offer refunds. If you need to cancel or if we need to close due to unsafe weather conditions, you will have the choice to reschedule or receive store credit. Our store credit never expires and can be used for any activity.
